Meet our Pastors
GOAC is blessed to have several leaders who follow and teach the word of god with great wisdom and faith
Great Oaks Apostolic Church Statement of Faith
Our chief aim is to glorify our Savior, who is Jesus Christ, “who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” (Titus 2:14).
We believe in the one God
We believe in the one God who is infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes, and purposes. He is omniscient, omnipresent, eternal, and immutable—unchanging in His being, character, and promises.
We believe the Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God and serves as the true basis for the doctrine of the church. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect thoroughly furnished unto all good works”. (II Timothy 3:16, 17) It reveals God’s love, character and will.
We believe God is the Creator
We believe God is the Creator of everything and through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear (Hebrews 11:2). We are created in his image with a spirit, soul and body to glorify the Father. We are His workmanship (Genesis 1:27; I Thessalonians 5:23; Ephesians 2:10).
We believe that God has revealed Himself
We believe that God has revealed Himself as Father in creation, as Son in redemption, and as the Holy Spirit in regeneration power.
We believe Jesus
We believe Jesus is fully divine, God manifested in human flesh, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life (I Timothy 3:16; John 1:1-4, 14). We believe Jesus is a fulfillment of the sign spoke in Isaiah which is Emmanuel, “God with us” (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23).
We believe that in Jesus
We believe that in Jesus dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, for it pleased the Father that in Him should all Fullness dwell (Colossians 1:19).
We believe that salvation comes by grace
We believe that salvation comes by grace through faith as we obediently respond to the gospel (Ephesians 2:8).
We believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ
We believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is exalted at the right hand of God (the place of authority) I Thessalonians 4:14; Acts 1:9).
We believe in the New Birth
We believe in the New Birth (being born again) includes a genuine repentance (death to the old nature), water baptism in Jesus’ name (burial of the old nature), and the fire baptism of the Holy Ghost (resurrection of the new nature) evidenced by the speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (John 3:3-7; Romans 6:4).
We believe in baptism in water by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ
We believe in baptism in water by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins according to Acts 2:38, at the house of Cornelius (Acts 10:46), and at the city of Ephesus (Acts 19:6) that of speaking in other tongues (or languages) as the Spirit gives utterance. This constitutes the new birth. (Acts 8:16; 10:44-46; 19:5; Titus 3:5)
We believe that when we receive the experience of the fire baptism of the Holy Ghost
We believe that when we receive the experience of the fire baptism of the Holy Ghost we also receive the same sign of Bible evidence as did the disciples on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:4) when He poured out His Spirit in Jerusalem, and that same Spirit continues to fill and empower believers today (John 14:16, 26; Acts 1:8; 2).
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female.
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God, and the rejection of one’s biological gender is a rejection of the image of God within that person. (Genesis 1:26-27; Psalm 139:14)
We believe God has ordained and created marriage
We believe God has ordained and created marriage to exist between one man and one woman in a single, covenantal union as delineated by Scripture (Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:22–23; Mark 10:6–9; 1 Corinthians 7:1–9).
We believe in a Holy sanctified life
We believe in a holy sanctified life, divine healing, communion and feet washing, and the Glorious catching away (The Rapture) of the Saints, when Jesus returns in the clouds of glory to take His people to Heaven.
